Fitted with two rectangular mirror plates, the upper smaller plate within a rocaille form banding, the lower plate with foliate cresting and molded banding each within and outer frame centered by mirror plates within a foliate carved frame made up of conjoined C-scrolls, the upper corners with large rocaille-carved S-scrolls flanking a mirrored cartouche cresting carved with pierced rocaille work, the bottom C-scrolled corners carved with rocaille and flanking a shaped acanthus-spray to the center of the apron.

Condition
Overall in very good condition. Re-gilt; nice wear and rubbing showing red bole beneath; nice old gesso; some areas of original gilding remain; bottom corners with hairline cracks over lines of constructions but in sound condition; some old restored breaks to leaves; some very minor chips to gilding. Two central mirror plates are probably replaced but have good age; some pitting and minor losses to silvering in places. Good proportions and beautifully carved.
