Provenance

Given by Elena of Montenegro, Queen of Italy (1873-1952) to Professor Paul Lamarque, the doctor who cared for her during her final illness in Montpellier.  Family tradition holds that upon giving the box, the former Queen mentioned that it had been given to her by Emperor Nicholas II.

Excellent condition, with one scratch to the base of approx. 9mm, not down to the metal, and with other very minor abrasions.
