Condition

The sheet has two very slight tears: one in the top left corner and one in the top right corner. There is a tiny scratch to the top middle. There is a very slight crease near the edge in the top right area and one in the middle left area. There is very minor flecks of paint loss along the left middle edge and one point in the lower right area. Held in a modern wooden frame under glass. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note

Italian by birth, Premazzi spent a large part of his life in Russia, were his watercolours were very popular among members of the Russian aristocracy and at the Imperial court. Today, he is best known for his watercolours depicting the interiors of the Hermitage and the Baron Stieglitz Mansion.
