Description

  • 28cm high
together with a Chinese turquoise blue-glazed porcelain rouleau vase, the gilt-bronze mounts in 18th century style, with handles and a copper liner, (22cm. high; 8½in.)

Condition

The head of the dignitary is broken and repared, with overpainting visible around the neck. The knee has a glaze chip. The head of one attendant is possibly broken and restuck. There are general chips and losses to the extremities. The glaze surface and the gilding is rubbed, with traces of gilding still remain. There are cracks along the top of the screen. Minor glaze firing imperfections. The vase is mounted with metal on the base, so the base is not inspected. The interior is fitted with a copper container. There are glaze cracks along the necl. Minor glaze firing imperfections and glaze inconsistency.
