The condition of the wood is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The back, proper right arm, the tail and front sections of the claws are carved separately and stable joints are visible. There is a small re-attachment to the side of the proper right wing. There is a small loss to the surface on the top of the proper left wing. There is minor stable splitting to the wood consistent with the material. The paintwork has been refreshed and there are two holes in the top of the base.
