Condition

The colours of this carpet are more of a pistachio green and cherry red. The colour image in the catalogue photograph is too yellow in tone. See the room shot of the carpet in situ in the dining room, on page 71 in the catalogue which shows a better colour match. (Please note that it is light coming into the room which makes the top end near the windows in this shot make the carpet look as if it has abrash at that end, which it does not). Colour in reality is even overall. There is some delicate abrash across the centre. The pile is generally and even 4 to 6 mm overall. There are knotted fringes at both ends and original side cords. There are surface spots and marks in areas, for example bottom left corner of the top right quadrant, and in areas up the centre of the left half. A thorough professional clean is recommended. (We have been informed by our restorer that it can be improved with cleaning). Good quality and dense robust weave. Good size and very decorative colouration.
