- each approximately 2m. high excluding lanterns; 6ft. 6¾in.
each in drapery and a helmet, on a later rockwork base, the silvered lanterns on partially covered leather poles; both figures hollowed out at the back; refreshment to lacquer

Condition
In overall good conserved condition and very impressive. Good colour match with image on p. 16. Colours slightly darker than in the photograph on p. 17. Both backs are hollowed out. Old construction cracks and age cracks generally which are normal. Some minor losses to leather stems on the lantern poles and cracks as visible in the catalogue phoptograph p. 16. The blackamoor on p. 16-two horizontal cracks across the middle feather on his helmet. Restorations to silvered lanterns which would benefit from a light clean as tarnished with old dents, splits and buckling at the joints and the nozzles are slightly crooked as visible from the photograph on p. 17 and would benefit from some attention.
