together with one plique-a-jour bowl and cover, 19th century

Condition

The stem bowl with a yellow foot has a 0.8 x 0.8cm loss to the interior with associated flakes. Both cloisonné stem bowls are in general very good condition with only minor losses and refill to the enamels. The blue enamels to the interior of the covers are slightly inconsistent to that on the bowls. There are characteristic pinprick holes to the enamels and minor dirt; the gilt rims are slightly rubbed. Each stem bowl has traces of an old cellotape just below the rim and red and blue lacquered numbers to the underside. The champlevé stem bowl and cover has an area of depression to one side at the top, with extensive associated loss to the enamels and gilt-metal wires. There are further enamel losses to the cover around the knop. One side of the stem also has an area of depression with associated enamel loss, the foot is slightly uneven. There are short scratches, dents and minor rubbing to the gilt-metal rims.
