Catalogue Note

Predominantly active in Lombardy, Pianca was nevertheless inspired by the Genoese Alessandro Magnasco and the Venetian Sebastiano Ricci. His idiosyncratic style is marked by strong colours and rapid brushstrokes, as apparent in the present work.
