The picture is cooler in tone and less acidic in colour than the catalogue illsutration would suggest. The paint surface is in very good overall condition with no apparent damage or loss of paint. There is minor surface dirt including some very minor white flecks lower left and a slightly blanching varnish. Examination under ultraviolet reveals a thick varnish which impedes inspection however there are some scattered minor areas of strengthening in the architecture and throughout the foreground particularly to the darker pigments and shadows. Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame in good overall condition.
