2 photographs, comprising Plum Victoria and Pea Quite Content, printing-out-paper prints, each initialed and titled in pencil on the reverse, framed, circa 1900 (2)
Provenance
Christie's New York, 18 April 2001, Sale 9618, Lots 43 and 44
Condition
These early, warm-toned prints, on paper with a glossy surface, appear to be in generally excellent condition. Each print is tipped at 4 corners to a backboard. They have not been viewed out of their frames.
Plum Victoria - Tiny deposits of original retouching are visible on the surface. The corners are bumped, and the lower left corner is creased.
Pea Quite Content - This print has thin margins. There appears to be original retouching on a linear impression in the upper right corner of the image. When examined in raking light, a snake-like linear impression is visible in the lower left quadrant.
