a unique object, a diptych of chromogenic and gelatin silver prints, hinged to a black board, signed, dated, and annotated in ink, and with red paint and ink embellishment and collaged feather on the image, 1965-80, printed circa 1994 (Turkanaland variant: Beyond the End of the World, unpaginated)
Provenance
Gift of the photographer, 1994
Condition
This work, consisting of two prints joined vertically, is in generally very good condition. There are two tack holes in the upper corners of the 'Diary Page.' The upper corners are also bumped and creased. The side and lower edges of 'Turkanaland' are rubbed, and there are losses at the black margin edges. When examined in raking light, there is a handling crease that does not appear to break the emulsion visible in the lower left quadrant of 'Turkanaland.'
