Condition

This print, on paper with a surface sheen, and mounted to a Famous Photographers School mount, is in generally good condition. The edges are rubbed. In the wider right margin, a black 'ROUGH PRINT' stamp has been crossed out with red ink. When examined in raking light, three linear impressions are visible in the center, and a small sharp crease which appears to break the emulsion near the right edge of the print. The Famous Photographers Stamp has been annotated with '17' (lesson number), '10' and '12-13' (marked out) for the page, and 'Key A' in red ink. The mount is lightly soiled on the front and back, and on the reverse there is a strip of adhesive remnant at the left edge. Also on the reverse of the mount are numerous stamps: 'Famous Photographers Schools, Wilton Road, Westport, Conn.,' 'Please return to Art Archives, Graphics Building,' 'Original Art,' and the FPS Lesson stamps with red pencil numbers. This print was used used in Famous Photographers Course, Volume III, Lesson 17, 'Editorial Illustration,' pp. 10 and 29. This photograph was made with a Nikon F with a 105mm/2.5 lens; Tri-X film; 1/125 second at f/8; daylight.
