the first chased with allegories, one side with a warrior symbolising Victory, the other with a mermaid holding a mirror for Prudence, within rococo scrolls, chained stopper ; the other chased with Pan and Syrinx, associated dolphin stopper, the base inset with a bloodstone matrix engraved with love birds and the motto Vivons Unis

1st: very well chased, a small filled hole on right hand shoulder, the chain is later and the loop attaching it to the stopper also appears to have been added. it is although stylistically appropriate and well fitting. It is possible that the stopper is associated. 2nd: split under the arms of Syrinx and there is wear on the shoulders. The chain is modern. and the stopper does not fit completely into the neck.
