la gaine incurvée ornée de bustes à l'antique en argent et de rinceaux de fleurs sur un fond bleu opaque émaillé, les montures en argent gravées, le couteau à lame en acier au manche vert de même décor orné de petits médaillons de Johann Georg III (1647-1691, Electeur de Saxe -1680), sommés des armoiries de Saxe, les montures en argent également gravées de ses armoiries, la lame avec la marque du fourbisseur comprenant également les armoiries de la ville de Dresde
the curved sheath applied with raised silver Antique busts and scrolling flowers on a Madonna blue opaque enamel ground, engraved silver mounts, the steel-bladed knife with similarly-decorated green handle applied with small silver clichés of medallic representations of Johann Georg III, (1647-1691, Elector of Saxony (1680), below the arms of Saxony, the silver mounts also engraved with his arms, the blade with cutler's marks including the town arms of Dresden

knife with scrapes to enamel near margin with top mount; blade with small nick to cutting edge, scabbard with chips to enamel in a number of places and extensive losses to applied silver scrollwork.
