- oil on oak panel
- 48.8cm by 87.5cm
Condition
The colours of the catalogue image are generally representative but the sea is a touch more blue/green in the original.
The single, stable, flat support is bevelled on all four edges.
There is an old hairline vertical split in the panel running in the from the left edge, just discernible on the reverse and visible under UV in the paint surface.
The paint surface is lovely, and is in good condition under an old varnish.
Scattered tiny, frequent, old, discoloured retouchings are visible to the naked eye in the brown ground and the sky, and less significantly elsewhere, and these are confirmed under UV light.
Offered in a later, stained wooded frame in good condition.
