Condition
The picture is lighter in tone and fresher in colour than the catalogue illustration would suggest. The canvas appears to be in very good condition no apparent damage or loss of paint visible to the naked eye. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered very minor flecks of cosmetic retouching and scattered but localised areas of infilling to an old craquelure in the sky. Overall the picture appears to be in very good condition. Offered in a Dutch style ebonised wood frame with minor losses.
