Acquired by the parents of the current owner in the 1980s.
Condition
The colours are warmer and redder than the catalogue illustration suggests. The support consist sof a single cradled panel, which appears flat and stable. The painting has been quite recently cleaned and restored. It is very difficult to determine the degreee of restoration as the varnish layer is too thick to permit assessment under ultra violet light, and only a few local spot touchings lower right are visible.
This lot is offered with a tortoiseshell frame with gilt sight edge in good condition.
