Condition
The catalogue illustration is representative and the painting appears to be in good condition, with no major extant damage or loss of paint. The canvas has been lined and there is one small area of very minor flaking in the lower left. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals minor retouching in the sitter's hat, as well as scattered minor retouching in the background, and in the sleeve of the outstretched arm. Held in a carved and gilded wooden frame.
