Condition
Small diagonal crease, top right corner. Light remains of vertical crease towards right side. Very minor losses at extreme lower left edge. Otherwise very good and fresh. Sold in a modern dark wood frame.

Catalogue Note
Another, signed, drawing by Schouman of the same bird, but seen from the other side, was formerly in the Unicorno Collection.1 The inscription on the reverse of that drawing noted that the specimen depicted was in the collection of the "Constschilder Brasser" of Middelburg, and that the drawing was executed on 4 May 1767.
