- A study of a horse's head and a separate study of a girl below
- Point of the brush and brown wash over traces of black chalk, heightened with white, on paper prepared pink
Condition
Hinged to the mount at the upper margin. Light scattered foxing, more concentrated at left and right sides of the sheet. There is what appears to be a water stain just below the horse's neck. The white heightening has slightly oxidised. Otherwise medium remains fresh.
