This painting is on a joined, cradled panel. There is very slight bowing along the join, which is somewhat visible in raking light, and the seam appears to have been glued on the reverse. Under UV, there are brushed spots of inpainting in the background and dashes of retouching to address craquellure in the figure's face, hair and dress.
