Condition
Oil on canvas, lined. There is a repaired tear visible to the naked eye, with an accompanying loss, extending 9 1/2 in. horizontally from the center of the sitter's chest to the right, then downward 4 in. through the chair. There is a stable web of craquelure and a thick, yellowed varnish over the entire surface. Under UV light, the varnish fluoresces green. There are some small spots of inpainting near the previously mentioned tear and along the right edge of the sitter's white dress.
