Condition

Oil on cradled panel. Composition edge visible at the top. Frame abrasions left, right and lower edges. Under UV: small scattered spots and dashes of inpainting, especially along the edges. Line of inpainting under table to address panel split.

Catalogue Note

According to RKD records, this painting was inscribed 'Brouwer' until circa 1935. This inscription has subsequently been cleaned off revealing the 'D. TENIER' signature which is now apparent.
