Condition

The canvas is lined. The surface is in fair condition; there are abrasions at all edges, with some loss, possibly caused by interaction with frame (ex at top edge); craquelure at all quadrants; brown spot accretion at right of nose; horizontal crease at top edge, possible stretcher mark; possible horizontal tear with repair at left temple; areas of uneven texture at left arm, at right arm (possible repairs); vertical white scuff at jacket (at left of button); fibers/particles to surface. Inspection under UV reveals a thick masking varnish has been applied obscuring any prior retouches.
