- Italian School, 17th Century
- Four Oriental Figures on Horseback
- pen and brown ink and wash heightened with white over traces of black chalk within brown ink framing lines
- 5 7/8 by 8 1/4 in.; 15.0 by 20.9 cm.
Condition
Window mounted. The surface is in generally good condition aside from a few minor stains to the sheet most notably to the margins and a slightly irregular right edge. There are some very minor nicks to the right edge and a small crease to the sheet on the lower right edge. The lead white heightening is showing signs of slight oxidation in places. The image is still strong. There is an additional black chalk sketch of a figure (verso).
