Condition

Both of these panels are uncradled, and lined on the reverse with canvas topped with paper. They are slightly bowed, but this is extremely slight and the panels are in stable condition. Both pictures are under uneven varnishes, which do not cover the standing figures, nor the faces of the seated figures. A few minor retouches are found along the edges of the composition but these are minor. The standing ladies are in very good condition, though very slightly rubbed in an isolated part of the drapery. Overall though, both works are in good state. In carved oval giltwood frames with a few minor cracks and one small loss to the liner.
