Provenance

Acquired by the great grandfather of the present owner in 1887 in Naples, Italy.

Condition

The canvas is lined. The surface is in fair condition and appears somewhat flattened and abraded. There is wide-spaced paint separation in which dirty old varnish has accumulated. Lifting of the paint and losses middle lower edge, scattered pinpoint losses and visible retouches notable along left side. Inspection under UV reveals a thick varnish and scattered retouches throughout.
