The canvas is lined. The surface is in generally good condition; there is some fine pressed craquelure and the ground is visible in areas as it is rather thinly painted. Under UV; there is a 1 inch retouch in the sky just below the clouds in the center of the painting, and some inpainting along the left edge. There is a selectively applied varnish in the lower right corner with scattered retouches.
