I composed "Begin the Beguine" in New Guinea on a cruise around the world with Moss Hart ...''), Porter's will and autopsy report, documents relating to Porter's grave and headstone, letters and cards about Porter, mostly addressed to Madeline Smith, from Carol Channing, Anita Loos (13), Douglas Fairbanks Jr. (3) and Mary Pickford (including a signed photograph of the glamorous couple with their children ("Affectionate Greetings to Cole and Linda Mary P and Douglas ...''), Joan Fontaine, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne (14), Art Carney, Bella Spewack, Fred Astaire, Kitty Collidge, Norma Shearer (a telegram) and others, sheets of stamps,a book prepared by Main Bocher and Douglas Pollard depicting Linda Porter's house, Buxton Hill, its garden, flowers, furniture and works of art, as a present while she was in hospital.
