Catalogue Note

The first printed edition of the Greek text of Aeschylus' plays, in the Greek italic type commissioned by Aldus, cut by Francesco Griffo and based on the writing of Marcus Musurus.

Renouard notes that the manuscript Asulanus used for this edition was defective, lacking the end of Agamemnon and the beginning of Coephores, so that he mistakenly conflated the two into a single play.
