Sale, Sotheby's London, 21st July 2005, lot 105, where acquired by the present owner

Condition

Original canvas, the canvas undulates slightly in the bottom corners. There are very minor, light traces of surface matter and studio detritus with handling marks and one or two light scuffs to the extreme edge, owing to the work being unframed. There are slight areas of loss to some of the thicker, raised areas of applied impasto in the top right hand corner. Elsewhere there are slight surface scuffs to the centre right hand quadrant. This excepting the work appears in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals areas of fluorescence which appear in keeping with the nature of the materials, but one or two further tiny spots of possible retouching to the bottom extreme edges. Unframed. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
