Condition
Original canvas.
There is surface dirt, with a possible light blooming most prominent in the upper right hand corner. There are three small areas of loss; the first and largest of which to the extreme bottom right hand corner, and most probably the result of a previous framing, and the second and third to the lower left hand quadrant in the dark purple/black area. Elsewhere there is reticulation towards the centre of the composition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouchings.
