Condition
Structurally sound, the work is a little loose on its base, and may benefit from re-tightening.
There is very minor surface dirt and dust to the crevices, with one or two tiny flecks of surface matter, visible upon very close inspection. This excepting the work appears in excellent overall condition.
Housed on a black polished stone base, the glasses are detachable.

拍品資料及來源
Benjamin Bernstein and his brother Edward were close friends of Elisabeth Frink and important patrons of her work. Both based in Philadelphia, they travelled frequently to the UK where they spent time with Frink at her home in Dorset.
They were particularly influential in building support for her in the United States, as they were happy to lend works from their substantial collections to public exhibitions of her work. Indeed her first major retrospective in America in 1990, an exhibition of her sculptures and drawings at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., relied heavily on their support and was instrumental in cementing her international reputation.
