Condition
Very fine and crisp cast, with warm brown patina and precise in all details. Some minor wear to the patina at several places consistent with age and handling. An old reparation above her proper left shoulder, showing a fine fissure and old plug, probably to close an old joint. Very good bronze.

Catalogue Note
Une Bacchante aux cymbales fut achetée en 1699 par Raymond Leplat pour la collection d' Auguste Le Fort à Dresde. Robert Le Lorrain (1666-1743) expose le modèle en bronze, accompagné d'un petit Satyre s'appuyant sur un tronc d'arbre, au Salon de 1704 . Cette version, visible sur une gravure de Louis Desplaces (1682-1739), acquise à la vente Sotheby's Londres, le 13 décembre 1979, lot 862, est aujourd'hui conservée au musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, (inv. n° 2011.0.179).
