Condition
Very good condition overall with some minor dents to the surface and traces of dirt in the crevices. Minor wear to the patina consistent with age and handling.

Catalogue Note
Selon John Pope-Hennessy, ce bronze pourrait figurer un gladiateur et aurait formé pendant avec un Homme nu debout portant un vase (Berlin, Bode Museum, anciennement Kaiser Friedrich Museum, inv. n° 334/Inv. 880). Par ailleurs, l'attitude du personnage reprend à l'identique, en sens inverse, celle du Jason en marbre du Victoria and Albert Museum (inv. n° 6735-1860) provenant des jardins du palais Stiozzi-Ridolfi à Florence.
