la chevelure bouclée retenue par un bandeau, il est vêtu d'une longue robe reserrée à la taille par une ceinture, un large manteau drapé sur les épaules, fermé par une agrafe cruciforme,et retombant en plis profonds sur ses pieds (les ailes manquantes, trous d'attaches visibles au dos)

Very good condition overall with some minor chips to the surface. The wings missing as the fixation holes on the back indicate.

Catalogue Note
Destinée à la dévotion privée et ayant vraisemblablement appartenu à un mobilier ou un reliquaire, cette figure d'Ange se distingue par la finesse de son visage aux cheveux finement bouclés, les yeux en amande, ainsi que le soin apporté au vêtement comme le petit col enroulé, le fermoir de son manteau, et la ceinture enroulée ceignant sa taille. Stylistiquement il pourrait être comparé aux anges provenant de la collégiale de Poissy (Metropolitan Museum of Art, op.cit. n° 44), ou être associé aux groupes d'anges en chêne sculpté, de taille plus grande, au musée du Louvre, datant de la fin du XIIIe siècle (Paris, Louvre, RF 1663, op. cat. n°21 - 26.).
