Composed of ivory silk, the frame set with old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 7.65 carats, accented by oval and calibré-cut rubies weighing approximately 1.85 carats, measuring approximately 6¼ by 6¾ inches; circa 1930.
Condition
In good condition overall. The fabric is pulled up underneath the clasp thumbpiece and two pleats on the reverse are wrinkled. The cushion-cut ruby is a medium slightly pinkish red color and is moderately included, with abrasions to the facet junctions and deep scratching to the surface. The remainder of the square-cut rubies are of a medium red color and good clarity. Diamonds are approximately G-I color and SI-I clarity. Interior finished in ivory satin, fitted with two large pockets and one small pocket. Inside signed Violette Cornille Paris.
