The cushion-shaped cabochon ruby weighing 31.30 carats, claw-set to a mount accented with brilliant-cut diamonds, size 51, signed Cartier, numbered, French assay and maker's marks, case by Cartier.
Condition
Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US and therefore this piece may not be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin is required before the import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information.
Signed Cartier and numbered H4S00806, size 51 also indicated, French maker's mark. French assay mark from platinum. According to the SSEF report the ruby, measuring approximately 17.95 x 14.63 x 9.35 mm and stated to weigh 31.30 carats, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, it is red of medium strong saturation; with typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching. Additionally accompanied by a report from C. Dunaigre, dated 18 Nov. 2009, stating that the ruby shows no indications of heating. According to the Cartier certificate, the 108 diamonds weigh a total of 1.06 carats, and there are 7.66 grams of platinum; the certificate indicates that this is a unique creation as per design 048340, a photocopy of this design/drawing is included. Also includes an additional wax sealed certificate from Cartier, unopened. Case stamped 'The Pigeon Heart Ruby ring' to exterior top and 'Cartier' to interior. Signs of very little wear to the metal. In very good condition. Gross weight of ring approximately 14 grams.
