Description

  • diamond, emerald, metal
Centring on a circular-cut diamond within a surround of calibré-cut emeralds, size 53, later shank.

Provenance

By family tradition this ring was formerly in the collection of the 10th Nizam of Hyderabad.

Condition

Diamond measuring approximately 8.27 x 8.33 x 5.27 mm, estimated to weigh approximately 2.20 carats; in our experts' opinions the diamond is of K colour , SI clarity, as gauged and graded in mounting. Emeralds well matched in colour, well saturated with good transparency, with typical crystal inclusions, few surface reaching. Ring shank not connected to the central mounting by one of the bifurcated shoulders; shank later added. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.
