Description

  • tanzanite, diamond, gold
Centring on a sugarloaf cabochon tanzanite weighing approximately 40.40 carats, to a stylised mount set with circular-cut diamonds and sapphires together weighing approximately 3.50 and 4.20 carats respectively, mounted in 18 karat white gold. Ring size: 7

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the sugarloaf tanzanite is of medium deep, intense blue colour, (very similar to sapphire colour), clean to both naked eyes and loupe check. Other tiny sapphires are of very light to medium deep blue colour, eye clean. Diamonds are about G to I colours, mostly VS clarity. Condition: Karat white gold mount, in very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
