The first brooch modelled as a ‘lion’, decorated by circular-cut diamonds and calibré-cut onyx-set nose, accented by cabochon emerald-set eyes, signed and numbered C63 B1023 I457; the second brooch modelled as a ‘duck’ of textured gold design, the beak and feet set with carved coral, accented by a cabochon chalcedony-set eye, signed and numbered 70127025; mounted in 18 karat yellow gold. (2)
Condition
Colour and Condition: In our opinion, coral on the duckie brooch is of intense orange-red colour. Green chalcedony is translucent, of medium green hue. Emeralds on the other lion brooch are of intense green colour, eye clean and lively. Diamonds together weighing approximately 0.10 carat, are about F to G colours, VS clarity. Both are signed VCA and numbered to the back, and French assay marks on the duckie brooch.
Condition: These two brooches are offered without reserve. Signs of normal wear to the metal of both brooches, not noticeable, overall in good condition.
