Catalogue Note

A typed letter from Michael Sadleir laid in states: "I should imagine that this was specially bound at Disraeli's order for Mrs Meredith and sent from the publisher who had carried out the binding on the author's instructions." The Meredith's son was engaged to Disraeli's sister Sarah and Disraeli was well acquainted with the family.
