Condition

The painted wire construction displays an oxidized surface that is slightly textured. The surface is characteristic of an aged surface and consistent with the date of its execution. Minor areas of corrosion can be seen where the paint layer is thin. The configuration of wires is irregular in its assembly, which was the intention of the artist. Minor paint loss can be seen on the wires where they have rubbed up against each other. This work is exhibited on a provisional wooden base. Please note, this lot is accompanied by a photo-certificate of authenticity from FundaciĆ³n Gego.

Catalogue Note

-What is your feeling about materials?

-The material should conform to my purpose. The natural form of wire is the closest to what I pursue: lines in space.
