Condition

This painting is restored. The canvas is unlined and the paint layer is very fresh and unabraded. It does not appear to have ever been removed from its stretcher. The wooden surround may be original. There are isolated and fairly evenly spaced retouches corresponding to small losses visible under ultraviolet light here and there. For instance, in the upper center, upper center right and center there are groups of restorations. In addition, there are also a few isolated spots of restoration. There is no structural damage and on the reverse one can see clearly that the original canvas is unbroken. These retouches represent isolated paint losses that have been attended to carefully. The work should be hung in its current state. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
