Condition
This charming work on canvas has subsequently been mounted onto a solid support, using wax as an adhesive, which has in turn been backed by linen. This seems to be a reasonably successful method of presenting the work. Although it is fairly easy to reverse, the work can also be hung in its current condition. The paint layer itself is in beautiful condition overall. The only restoration visible is a small spot in the roof in the upper center. The very slight thinness in the shadowed side of the wall beneath the plants on the left is the only sign of abrasion to what is otherwise a beautifully preserved picture.
