The deluxe edition of the portfolio, comprising text by Gerson D. Cohen, introduction by David Ben Gurion, including 25 lithographs printed in colors on Arches, each signed in pencil and numbered 5/250, plus the separate suite of 25 lithographs printed in colors, each signed in pencil and numbered C/J, on Japon nacré, printed by Mourlot, Paris and Wolfensberger, Zurich, published by Shorewood Publishers Inc., New York, 1968, contained in the original linen-covered portfolio box with metal clasp.

Condition

The sheets are in overall good condition aside from occasional and minor imperfections in the margins on some of the sheets. These include a few sheets with soft handling creases near the corners; the versos of several sheets are toned through transferance of medium; several sheets have varying levels of tiny pinpoints of scattered foxing.

Published in 1968 in honor of Israel's 20th anniversary. Dali's Aliyah, The Rebirth of Israel portrays the history of the Jewish people's return to their homeland. The present lot is a deluxe edition with two complete collections of the 25 signed, colored lithographic reproductions of the original mixed-media paintings.
