Catalogue Note
The Kalpasutra is an important canonical work of the Jains, associated specifically with the Shvetambara sect. The text written in nagari script identifies the corresponding scenes on the folio. The recto scene depicts the tirthankara’s birth and the image on the verso shows Adinath, the first tirthankara of the Jain faith.
