Oil on relined canvas. The picture surface is in generally good condition aside from a horizontal line of craquelure in the background above the figure's right arm. Under UV light, the figure's face and the outline of his head have been inpainted. There are also slightly fluorescing areas that may be evidence of older inpaints and may be glazes used by the artist. In overall fair condition.
