Condition
The canvas is lined. There is a thick varnish through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate but UV examination does reveal a few scattered tiny spots of retouching to the sky. There is a very faint vertical stretcher-bar mark running down the centre of the canvas with some associated fine lines of craquelure. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.
Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though overall slightly brighter in the original.
